*********O CANADA**********

The alley way is dark with only a small building standing to the side. The building is surrouded by a massive chainlink fence. It's obviously of some importance. From inside that building comes a scream, a gunshot and then silence.

Inside what could be an apartment or a motel room, Mulder and Scully sit at a table. Mulder looks at Scully with a hint of mischief in his eyes, "Go fish!" he says. Scully scowls and draws a card from their little pile.

"You know Mulder" Scully said, "as fun as this game is, isn't there something more important we should be doing?"

"Hmm..like what did you have in mind?" Mulder asks his words slightly slurred.

"Just how much of that whisky did you have back at the bar, Mulder?" Scully asks with a look of motherly concern on her face.

"Not mush..." says Mulder, "only a few shots..and call me Fox"

"Then obviously you don't drink much...Fox" replied Scully with a small smirk on her face.

She stood up from the table and stretched her arms. She then walked over to a small sink and picked up a cup that was sitting next to it. She filled the cup with water and took a long sip. Mulder watched her from behind; her shoulder length red hair glistened in the dim light and her clothes, though conservative, did nothing to hide her womanly figure.

"Ah well" Scully said yawning a bit for effect, "I'm going to head off to bed now. You taking the couch Mulder?"

"Whatever is best for you Dana.." Mulder replied.

In her mind Scully thought, well I'd prefer we both take the bed, but that can't happen. As she made her way into the bathroom she recalled a conversation she'd had with cancerman when he'd taken her to retrieve a disk with sensitive information. He had told her that she loved Mulder but refused to let herself do anything about that love. He was right, she thought, I do love him.

As Scully lay peacefully sleeping, Mulder silently crept into her room. The couch he was assigned to sleep on was lumpy. He smiled down upon her sleeping form. She was curled up slightly with her hair spread out on her stark white pillow. Her eyes framed with her beautiful lashes and her mouth curled into an almost smile. He wondered what she was dreaming about. Just before he turned to leave he mouthed, "I love you" to her and felt like crying.

Morning broke with the sun shining and birds singing. Dana stretched luxiorously in her bed and blinked a few times. She could hear Mulder through the wall running a shower. For a minute she wondered what he would do if she appeared and stepped into the shower with him....She let herself indulge in that fantasy for a few minutes.

Ten minutes later Mulder had shaved and exited the bathroom. He stepped aside and let Scully in. While Scully was showeing Mulder nipped out across the way to a Tim Hortons and picked up some breakfast for him and Scully. He picked out her favourite apple fritter and coffee and headed back to the motel. He knew she would scold him to getting her such an colorie laden breakfast but would enjoy it all the same.

As they were sitting and Dana was enjoying her breakfast, Mulder's cell rang. He scowled and answered, the phone call was interrupting a nice peaceful time. "hello" he said in his usual brisque tone.

Dana watched the expression on Mulder's face go from annoyed, to happy and back to annoyed again. She figured it had to be Skinner on the phone. Mulder folded his phone back up and stuffed it back in his jacket pocket. "well Scully, I suggest you finish up there. We have to be going. We have a 10:00 plane to catch."

Scully gave him a questioning look, "a plane to where?" she asked.

"Canada" said Mulder, "something weird is happening in Canada"

Scully thought to herself, isn't something weird always happening in Canada? She stuffed the last of her fritter her mouth and downed her coffee in one gulp. Mulder watched her with interest, she had one big mouth for one small lady.

They arrived at customs at 9:30 and got through with no problem. As they waiting patiently at their gate for a bording call, Mulder found himself repressing an urge to put his arm around her. All the other couples were sitting with the man's arm around the woman. Need I remind you, Mulder thought, that you and Dana are not a couple?

"Flight 215 to Vancouver is now pre-boarding! Would all passengers requiring assistance and traveling with young children please move to the boarding area!" hollered the loud speaker. Mulder considering asking Scully if she would mind limping a bit so they could get on early, but decided against it.

Finally they boarded the plane. They wrestled for the window seat and Scully won. She gave Mulder a smug look and claimed her prize. They settled into their seats as only experienced fliers can do and prepared to wait out the flight.

Mid-way through the flight the plane encountered some turbulence, the captain's voice came over the PA, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm going to ask you to please fastened your seatbelts and keep your chairs in the upright, locked position" and as this was a Canadian airline, "Madames et Monsieurs, s'il vous plait.."

Mulder raised an eyebrow, he enjoyed turbulence. Scully gripped what she thought was her armrest, she did not enjoy turbulence. "owwww" hissed Mulder as Scully's nails dug into his arm.

Scully looked down at her "armrest" which had turned out to be instead, Mulder's arm. "sorry" she said her voice trembling, "i just hate bumpy flights"
